Announcing February Practice Contest Winners!
What a great effort from our teachers, parents and especially participating students for our February practice competition! I was very excited and pleased to see not only the extra time practiced, but the amount of effort each student put into their practice last month.
Coming in at first place with an outstanding 867 minutes is…drumroll please…
…Bella Nardi! Bella just turned 10 years old and has been playing piano for a total of 3 years and has been taking lessons with The Music Abode for 1 year. She spent her practice month of February learning a level 3 piece, The Sound of Music. This is the first big contest Bella has ever won. She had the most enthusiasm, best effort, and greatly improved her technique. Congratulations Bella!
In second place with 760 minutes is Sofia Menck, also age 10, Sofia has been taking piano lessons with The Music Abode for 2 1/2 years and spent her February practice month learning the entire version of Fur Elise! Sofia is always very consistent with her practice so I am especially proud to present her with second place.
Finally, the last award is for a student who I believe showed the largest amount of improvement practicing last month. This was a difficult decision to make because so many students showed a great amount of improvement; however, this student has not only shown huge improvement in the last month putting her best foot forward during the competition, but she has also been working so hard each week over the past few months to push herself to the next level. She has accomplished so much! She spent her month of February learning a very difficult jazzy tune (something very different for her), Me Party from The Muppets…Daylene Higgins wins most improved!
