Orange County Christmas Concerts
There is no better time than the holidays to find some excellent entertainment! Here’s a list of some to checkout this season:
Dec. 5th-7th – Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade:
The parade features approximately 250 elaborately decorated boats and draws more than one million spectators each year. Prizes are awarded in a variety of categories such as “Best Humor and Originality” and “Best Lights and Animation!”. Cruises during the holiday lights cruises view all of the amazing light displays of bay front estates and landscapes along with many of the competing ships in the parade. Newport Landing provides private ship rentals for holiday parties of all sizes as well as 3 general admisison cruises each night of the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade and all of December to view the amazing light displays. Cruises during the parade travel in the parade and view both ships and estates in full décor.
Dec. 6th-8th – Pacific Symphony’s Nutcracker and Nutcracker for Kids:
Visions of sugarplums and beautiful ballerinas will dance in your head after seeing Tchaikovsky’s delightful Christmas ballet, performed in a condensed 45-minute version created just for kids. This annual favorite finishes with a grand finale sing-along and a jolly visit from Santa himself!
Enjoy a fun and fascinating 45-minute concert designed especially for children 5-11.
Join in the fun at the interactive Musical Carnival, where kids can test drive a musical instrument, meet and interact with musicians from Pacific Symphony and Pacific Symphony Youth Ensembles, watch local ensembles perform, create special crafts that connect to each concert’s theme and participate in learning activities that align with state and national educational standards. Activities begin at 9 a.m. for 10 a.m. concertgoers and 12:15 p.m. for 11:30 a.m. concertgoers.
Dec. 9th – A Celtic Christmas at Soka Performing Arts Center:
As the weather cools and yuletide fast approaches, what better way to bring in the spirit of the holidays than to treat the family to a truly exceptional holiday show with ‘A Celtic Christmas.’
World’s Most Recorded Piper’ Eric Rigler famously the piper from the TV Series Outlander, and who performed on the films Braveheart, Titanic, and ‘Amazing Grace’ at President Ronald Reagan’s funeral, will be coming to Soka Performing Arts Center with guitarist Dirk Freymuth for a very special performance on December 9.
Ring in the season with music from the Celtic and World Christmas traditions with Uilleann pipes, Scottish bagpipes and whistles. Experience this exquisite piper!
Dec. 9th – Sounds of Christmas Concert:
It wouldn’t be Christmas without beautiful singing and lots of fun; and the All-American Boys Chorus can serve both in generous Holiday-style helpings.
All your seasonal favorite songs, served with style and a smile, just as you like them.
Join the All-American Boys Chorus, under the direction of Wesley Martin, for their annual Holiday musical feast and you’ll see for yourself why the All-American Boys Chorus is “America’s most beloved boys choir”

Dec. 15th – South Coast Repertory’s A Christmas Carol:
Nineteenth-century London comes to life when your family joins the SCR family for the holidays. Recapture the spirit of an old-fashioned Christmas with this timeless Dickens classic and all your favorite characters—Tiny Tim and the Cratchit family, the Fezziwigs, the Ghosts of Christmas past, present and yet-to-come—and, as always, Hal Landon Jr. as everyone’s favorite curmudgeon, Ebenezer Scrooge (“The quintessential Ebenezer Scrooge!” according to the Daily Pilot).
