Teacher Feature: Anthony Peña – Violin/Viola/Beginning Cello Instructor
We are welcoming violin, viola, and beginning cello instructor, Anthony Peña, into The Music Abode family! Anthony is a joy to be around, and his excitement and enthusiasm for music is contagious to encounter. He is currently studying music and composition at Fullerton College.
Anthony has been studying the violin for over a decade, which has led him to being a concertmaster for many local orchestras over the years, and even being in the first violin section for an orchestra in China! He is an extremely talented performer, which plays out in his years of experience in performing in weddings, with bands, and even on films. But Anthony doesn’t stop at simply being a great performer, he also has focused on the importance of music theory and composition. His ability to improvise quickly is a skill that not many musicians can master, and it is something that his students will benefit from. He is an avid student of music, and puts the same passion for his own study into his teaching.
Anthony believes that learning music is essential for young students, because it “not only encourages self expression and self-responsibility, but it also teaches students how to utilize their creativity for the real world to solve real life problems. Humanity needs people that know how to use their imagination to think outside of the box and outside of the books, otherwise we would not progress as a society.”
If you’d like to see if Anthony is available to teach in your area, be sure to contact us, as his schedule is sure to fill up soon!
