Teacher Feature: Anthony Phillips – Piano Instructor
Piano instructor Anthony Phillips brings true passion and excitement to his teaching with his genuine love for music and sharing with others. His unique education background and ability to connect with others makes him a truly special fit for our teaching team.
Mr. Phillips grew up in Chile speaking Spanish and Portuguese outside the home, but homeschooled with his American English speaking parents. During this time and thereafter, he studied with the Arts faculty conservatory for 9 years and received his BA in Classical Piano from the University of Chile. He also worked as an English teacher and used piano and music as a method for teaching English.
Anthony has been teaching piano for all levels (and basic to intermediate voice) for 3 years, then took a hiatus to enter the corporate business world, and has returned to teaching because of the joy and fulfillment it brings to him. He enjoys introducing new music and concepts to students and helping students realize their own musical strengths. He likes to utilize Czerny, Hanon exercises, and Poliritmia methods to assist in technique and has a vast library of music he enjoys incorporating into individual lesson plans.
Anthony is a passionate instructor who not only is a talented performer, but also an exceptional teacher through and through!
