Teacher Feature: Vocal Instructor Mackenzie Simao

New teacher Mackenzie Simao is another teacher for TMA working toward her Vocal Performance degree from Cal State Fullerton. Cal State Fullerton is one of the top ranked music colleges in the state as well as the country. Instructors we have on our teaching team from CSUF are able to teach students any type of music they are interested in as well as introducing them to new genres and expanding their music palette. Upon meeting with Mackenzie, I knew she fit this mold!

Mackenzie graduated high school from Orange County School of the Arts and is a really great resource for those looking to attend the very prestigious and impacted programs. During this time, she was also choir president of their top choir. While exploring her voice through private lessons and choir and solo performances she has gained appreciation and enjoys singing opera, jazz, musical theater, pop music, and singer/songwriter music styles.

Mackenzie structures her lessons with solfege for sight-singing and reading, warm-ups for strengthening then applying these fundamentals to song repertoire. She likes keeping variety in her lessons since there are always new things to learn about music that can bring new perspective.

As a teacher and lifelong music student, Mackenzie believes that music can be one of the “most incredible gifts you can experience…music changes lives for the better and having the ability to share a gift like that is priceless.”

Music has always been a positive outlet for her and she wants to make sure her students have the same experience.

Mackenzie is currently accepting new students, contact us to sign up!
